Swaths, not strands

A hair detangler works on the whole head. You do not pick one strand, fix it, and call the knot gone. You comb a swath, find where it catches, then work that catch.

A long draft or a worked-over program is the same job. Yours, a collaborator's, an agent's. The sentences or the components may already be fine. The damage is what the editing tangled: a pointer at a heading that moved, a button that goes nowhere, an argument that later rewrites left behind, two Settings screens that almost agree, a section or a dashboard that grew until it swallowed the rest. That does not show up in a line edit or a lint pass.

Detangler rebuilds a map from what is there now: an outline on a draft, surface and authority on a program. It follows internal pointers and reports what the editing left behind. It does not rewrite. The draft comb and the program comb are the same family.
